Uttar Pradesh: Woman sexually exploited on pretext of marriage

A woman was sexually exploited for around three months allegedly on the pretext of marriage. A case has been registered with Bidhnoo police in the city on Sunday. The police said the accused came in her contact with her and promised to marry the woman. On August 9, the accused took her to Rasoolabad and sexually exploited the woman for nearly three months. He promised to marry her but later backtracked.

The incident came when the woman lodged a complaint with the police. She alleged that the accused forced her to go for an abortion.

The accused, a resident of Fazalganj is absconding. A case has been registered with the Barra police under Section 376 (punishment for rape), 363 (punishment for kidnapping), 366 (kidnapping, abducting or compelling woman to marriage etc) of the Indian Penal Code. Station House Officer Bidhnoo said that we have registered a case. The accused is absconding. Raids are on to arrest him.
