West Bengal: 16-year-old hearing impaired girl gang raped at wedding reception

A speech and hearing impaired teenaged girl was allegedly gang raped by the relatives of her newly-wed aunt after the wedding reception at Baduria in North 24-Parganas district.

The girl was gang raped by the youths after the wedding reception was over. She was spotted moaning later.

Four of the culprits were arrested.

The 16-year-old girl came from Deganga in the district to attend the wedding reception of her uncle at Tilpara in Baduria.

The victim was initially teased by the youths, who later on raped her near the house where the reception was held.

A medical test was conducted on the victim and the accused were produced before a local court which remanded them in police custody for seven days.
